We recommend that you first visit the excavations of Pompeii, then take a break while enjoying a delicious lunch in a place suggested by our driver if you want to and then go on climbing to Mount Vesuvius, the only active volcano in Europe, to its steaming summit to enjoy panoramic views of the Bay of Naples.
You will attend a moderate uphill walk up to the volcano accompanied by your guide. Once you reach the top of 1,200 meters, you will be rewarded with breathtaking panoramic views. It will be possible to look inside the crater and see the steam coming out of the sleeping, but still active, volcano! If you do not want to climb to the top, there is a stop where you can wait for your group, but believe me, the walk is worth the effort.
Visit the Vesuvius and the ruins of Pompeii, the Roman city destroyed by a volcanic eruption in 1979: you will look out on the edge of the crater and admire the splendid panorama of the Gulf of Naples.
